The company was co-founded in 1979 and from their head office in the Massachusetts supplied technology across the globe. 3Com achieved a leading market position in China, and a substancial market share in Europe, Asia, and the USA. 3Com products were sold under the brands 3Com, H3C, and TippingPoint but now after an aquisition in 2010 by HP, 3Com no longer produce or support 3Com ranges.
