Nortel Wireless Gateway 7250
The Wireless Gateway 7250 is the mobility and security anchor point of the Wireless Mesh Network. It is also the point where reachability to the network is broadcasted. This is where the connection to the outside world, that is, the public network is made.\r\n\r\n The Wireless Gateway 7250 is the point at which network security is enabled in addition to the end user security between the subscriber and the Wireless Mesh Access Point already enabled through IEEE 802.11 security standards.\r\n\r\n Network security is provided by the Wireless Gateway 7250 by forming a secure IPSec tunnel from each Wireless Mesh AP to the Wireless Gateway 7250. By leveraging Nortel's leadership in delivering secure networks, access and network level security is built into the Wireless Mesh Network solution, drastically reducing security concerns.\r\n\r\n The Wireless Gateway 7250 also manages mobility within the mesh network. An end user (or alternatively a mobile node) that moves across the Community Area Network, moving from one Wireless Mesh AP to another, does so in a seamless and transparent manner, all managed by the Wireless Gateway 7250.
